SC Directs Its Registry Not To Accept Black And White Photographs As Part Of Its Pleadings

“The Registry is directed not to entertain hitherto any black and white photographs without prior permission of the Court”, it added.

During an ongoing hearing, the Supreme Court has asked its registry not to accept black and white photographs as part of its pleadings.

“We have been observing for a fairly long time that parties take full liberty in placing on record black and white photocopies of photographs, mostly which are blurred”, the Bench of Justices Surya Kant and Ujjal Bhuyan said.

 

“The Registry is directed not to entertain hitherto any black and white photographs without prior permission of the Court”, it added.

 

The court passed the direction while hearing a property and rehabilitation dispute from the Daman and Diu district. The Apex Court has directed for the formation of a committee of experts to take fresh measurements of the concerned property, the videographic evidence of the said property measurements will be placed before the court.
