Nitesh Rane Moves Bombay HC After Sessions Court Denies Anticipatory Bail

Narayan Rane's son and BJP MLA Nitesh Rane on Monday applied for a pre arrest bail in the Bombay High Court.

Sessions Court rejects anticipatory bail in a case of attempt to murder

The move to approach Bombay HC was on expected lines after a Session's court had refused Rane's anticipatory bail last week. The alleged case against the MLA is a serious one involving charges of "attempt to murder.'

According to an FIR registered against the BJP MLA, the complainants have accused the Minister's son of attacking Shiv Sena activist Santosh Parab during a recent election campaign for Sindudurg Sindhudurg District Central Cooperative Bank last week.

However, Rane has rebutted the accusations by stating that the case is politically motivated and was lodged with the intention to prevent him from participating in the bank elections.

The Bombay High Court is likely to be hear the case on Tuesday, January 4.
