A local court in Mumbai has granted conditional anticipatory bail to Sudhakar Ghare. Ghare has been accused of creating fake property papers and misleading Shilpa Shetty's mother Sunanda Shetty in a land deal worth 1.6 crore.
Relief for Ghare with expected caveats
Ghare has been directed to be present at Juhu Police station every week on Wednesday till October 15. The condition can be relaxed for Sudhakar post October 15 at the discretion of the investigating officer. The bail order further mentions that Ghare is required to furnish a bond of Rs 2,00, 000 with one or two sureties in case of arrest.
The disputed land deal and a not so well thought out MoU clause
Shilpa's mother Sunanda Shetty had entered into an MoU with the accused Ghare. Sunanda was supposed to get a farmer's certificate as per one of the clauses in the MoU for the purposes of purchasing the land. But Shilpa's mother could not present a farmer's certificate which resulted in a delay in the execution of the deal. It is not clear if Shipa's mother was aware of such a clause or signed the papers without giving the terms of the deal a proper read.
Although Sunanda went on to lodge a case against Ghare for cheating, forgery and criminal breach of trust, Ghare's lawyer has claimed that she is trying to play pressure tactics with her frivolous allegations. The civil nature of the dispute was also brought to the attention of the court.
Meanwhile, it is learnt that Shetty's mother has approached a Panvel court for seeking refund of 1.6 crores and cancellation of the MoU.
