Law Is Not Blind: SC Unveils New 'Lady Justice' Statue Without Blindfold

In the new rendition of the statue, Lady Justice can be seen holding the constitution of India, emphaising judiciary's thrust on constitutional principles and values in justice delivery.

The Supreme Court of India has reimagined the Lady Justice statue in the Judges library of the Supreme Court. The redesigned version of the iconic statue does not feature the blindfold and the colonial era sword. In the new rendition of the statue, Lady Justice can be seen holding the constitution of India, emphaising judiciary's thrust on constitutional principles and values in justice delivery.

“The law is not blind; it sees everyone equally,” CJI Chandrachud said during the unveiling.
