Experts Discuss Chat GPT 4.0 And Its Ramifications

Artificial Intelligence technology is taking enormous shape in today's world. Its various effects, both positive and negative, are being seen in the cyber ecosystem. The recent Chat GPT 4.0 launched by OpenAI is another step which takes the whole conversation on AI onto the next stage. Chat GPT 4.0 is an advanced multi model platform which can use speech, video, picture or other type of file as an input by the user and generate specific output. The amount of information that will be fed into this technology will be of great volume and therefore, how this information will be handled by the platform is the biggest question which remains to be conclusively answered.

Dr. Abhishek Singh, Additional Secretary, Cyber Security Division, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, said that Artificial Intelligence technology was not new but it had just been productised for large scale public consumption.

Dr. Krithika Rangarajan, Oncoradiologist, Assistant Professor, AIIMS explained the diverse use cases of AI tools in the healthcare sector to increase the efficiency of the healthcare professionals. She talked about a model wherein patients will be able to view simplified versions of their test reports through the use of AI.

Dr. Harpreet Singh, Scientist and Program Officer (Digital Health, AI for Health, Bioinformatics), Indian Council of Medical Research said that good research raises more questions than it answers. He further said that Artificial Intelligence was a statistical model and that in fact, it had no intelligence of its own.

Dr. Bhuvnesh Kumar, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, said that the biggest dilemma of the Government was how to regulate inn vation and when to regulate. He emphasised that early regulation killed innovation.

Dr. Pavan Duggal, Advocate, Supreme Court of India and Cyber Law expert said that it was not certain as to how the new multi model Chat bot will use private information shared with it by the users and more clarity was required on this point.
