[Exclusive] CAM Partner, Sameer Chugh To Leave the Firm, Set To Return To In-house Practice

Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas Partner Sameer Chugh is expected to move back as an in-house lawyer, Chugh had joined Delhi's CAM office to look after their TMT and regulatory practice in July 2021.

He has vast experience in regulatory and policy initiatives space; regulatory strategy and intervention; business support and partnering; M&A, fundraising, and more.

In August 2019, Sameer Chugh had taken over as Group General Counsel of the Bharti Group, with Mukesh Bhavnani moving up as an advisor to the group of companies.

Chugh worked with Airtel from 2014 to 2019 as Director-Legal & Regulatory, prior to which he was working at Cummins India as Vice President – Legal. He has also previously worked at Essar and BT PLC.

A graduate of Symbiosis Law School, Pune, the veteran in-house lawyer started his journey in law as a criminal litigator and transitioned into law firm practice. The opportunity to work in one of the largest law firms, Singhania and Company under the guidance of D.C. Singhania proved to be the right launchpad for Chugh in the initial years of his career. After working primarily with leading law firms in the first five years of his career, he joined NCR Corporation in 2001 and became one of the most renowned General Counsel with around two decades of diverse industry experience across multiple sectors.
