Delhi HC To Hear Plea On Postponement Of IAS (Mains) Exams

The sudden splash in Covid cases courtesy omicron variant has cast a shadow on the upcoming IAS (Mains) exam. The Delhi High Court is slated to hear a petition on Thursday on the question of postponing the civil services exam 2021.

IAS aspirants who have successfully cleared the prelims are worried about conducting the main exams at a time when the number of omicron cases are multiplying. A group of students have applied for postponement of the mains exam until the omicron threat subsides and normalcy returns.

For some students, it is the fear of loosing an attempt whereas for others the 2021 slot might be the last one considering the age bar. Back in 2020, a similar fear of loosing a valuable attempt had gripped CA students during the first outbreak of Covid19.

At a time when states and major cities in India are bringing back restrictions and night curfews, conducting exams from January 7 to January 16 is a matter floating on thin ice.
