[Covid 19] 13 Supreme Court Judges Were Infected During Third Wave

As many as 13 judges of the Supreme Court and 400 people in the registry were infected with COVID-19 amid the third Covid wave that the country is currently battling with.

CJI NV Ramana revealed these worrying numbers when one of the lawyers made a mild fuss about having to wait for urgent listing of his case. 

Delays are understandable in such dire circumstances but the fact that the Hon'ble judges and court staff have  been working with ailing bodies is commendable..

"If you don't know the problems what can we do," CJI Ramana remarked.

The current working strength of the Supreme Court is 32 judges and the staff count is close to 3000 members.
