CJI N.V. Ramana To Formally Launch Live Streaming Of Proceedings Of All Willing Benches Of Gujarat HC

The Chief Justice of India Justice N.V. Ramana will formally launch live streaming of proceedings of Gujarat High Court on July 17, 2021. 

With this move, the Gujarat High Court will become the first court to implement the open court concept. 

Launch of virtual court system on experimental basis was a huge success

Adopting live streaming of proceedings of Gujarat High Court was on the cards after the massive success of the pilot exercise launched last year in October. The move to telecast live proceedings of the first court of Gujarat High Court was met with a thunderous response. 

If numbers tell a story, this pilot exercise garnered more than 41 lakh views with 65000+ subscribers in around 8 months on the YouTube Channel of Gujarat High Court.

High Court of Gujarat (Live Streaming of Court Proceedings) Rules 2021 framed for all willing benches of Gujarat High Court

Taking a cue from the positive response, the Gujarat High Court had formally framed the High Court of Gujarat (Live Streaming of Court Proceedings) Rules 2021, last month. This means that all the willing benches of the Gujarat High Court will be guided by the live streaming rules for virtual telecast of their proceedings.

Along with the Chief Guest Justice NV Ramana, the inaugural function will be graced by chairperson of e-committee, Justice DY Chandrachud.

Justice MR Shah , Judge, Supreme Court of India will also be present as a guest of honour and special guest. 

Viewers can watch the historic inaugural function on Gujarat High Court's YouTube Channel from 5:30 PM onwards on July 17.
