BW Legal World’s Former Managing Editor Ashima Ohri Joins Panag & Babu

BW Legal World’s Former Managing Editor Ashima Ohri has joined white collar crime specialist firm Panag & Babu as its Practice Development Manager.

“Law firms historically have taken a non-method or system-based approach to training and developing their talent, and in practices such as white collar crimes where the talent pool is limited – it is imperative that training and development be more scientific as opposed to adhoc,” said the firm’s managing partner – Sherbir Panag. He added that “we needed someone with Ashima’s breadth of skills and entrepreneurial commitment, to conceive and develop a dynamic and best in class program – that would become a benchmark not just in India but globally for the practice. I am looking forward to this journey.”

Ashima is a Business Economics and Law graduate from Delhi University. She started her legal career in international commercial arbitration with Senior Advocate Mr A.K. Singh in New Delhi and thereafter took the unconventional path towards writing, managing and strategizing content for Legal and Lifestyle platforms located in India, USA, Australia, Singapore, and KSA amongst others. Some of the popular legal media publications where Ashima brought topical news stories, journeys of top lawyers, and burgeoning legal issues to the fore, include BW Legal World; ALB, Thomson Reuters; and Wolters Kluwer Australia.

Commenting on her move and unconventional journey, Ashima said “In the words of Robert Frost, I have (always) taken the road less traveled by, and that has made all the difference. Once again, I see before me an opportunity to break new ground in nurturing talent with Sherbir's and the firm's game-changing ideas that will turn the chronic skill gap in the industry on its head. I am excited about my role and the chance to work with spirited minds in the firm who are not busy passing the buck to our education system but are instead stepping up to the plate."
