Planet Marathi founder has denied cheque dishonour allegations levelled against him by actor and entrepreneur Aayush Shah.
Adressing Shah's allegations of cheque dishonour against him, Bardapurkar stated that the entire claim of Ayush is baseless and without merit, instituted with an intent to foist a false and fictitious claim on him. Acording to Bardapurkar, Ayush and Shah have filled in the details in blank signed cheques and deposited them as per his "whims and fancies' to foist a false claim.
“I have sufficient evidence to prove that the monies claimed by Ayush have already been received by him and shall defend these frivolous complaints.
Calling the articles published against him in the ongoing matter as slanderous and libellous, Bardapurkar said that he will initiate appropriate legal proceedings against Ayush and Mausam. "I believe in the Judiciary and believe that truth will prevail.”, he exclaimed.
Advocate Behzad Irani and Advocate Ruchika Sharma representing Bardapurkar said that they are under instructions to initiate criminal and civil proceedings against Mr. Ayush and Mausam for publishing these articles.
Earlier this week, Actor and entrepreneur Aayush Shah, along with his business partner Mausam Shah, had filed multiple legal criminal cases under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act against Akshay Bardapurkar, founder of Planet Marathi.
According to Shah, Bardapurkar has allegedly issued nine signed cheques to Aayush and Mausam, co-founders of the PR agency Maars Communicates. Shah has claimed that cheques, totaling ₹1,14,30,400, were dishonoured upon presentation. Of this, ₹87,00,000 was allegedly owed to Aayush Shah, and ₹20,00,000 was owed to Mausam Shah, with monthly interest of ₹3,61,500 accruing since May 2024, states a press release issued by the actor.
In total, Aayush Shah has filed three criminal cases against Akshay Bardapurkar and Planet Marathi Seller Services for the ₹87,00,000 allegedly owed to him, while Mausam Shah has filed one criminal case for the ₹20,00,000 owed to her. On being contacted, Shah has denied initiation of any legal proceedings against him by Bardapurkar.
