Arjun Ram Meghwal has retained the Ministry of Law and Justice in the third term of Narendra Modi's Prime Ministership.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and 71 cabinet ministers took their oath of office and secrecy on Sunday, June 9, 2024.
The President Secretariat issued a press communique with all cabinet ministers. Meghwal is a member of Parliament elect from the Lok Sabha constituency of Bikaner, Rajasthan. He obtained 50.7 per cent votes in the Election 2024 Results.
Meghwal, a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party, has held several significant positions: he was Chief Whip, served as Minister of State for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises from 2019 to 2021, Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs from 2016 to 2017, and Minister of State for Water Resources from 2016 to 2017. Since 2009, he has been a Lok Sabha member representing the Bikaner constituency in Rajasthan. In 2013, he received the Best Parliamentarian award.
He was born in the small village of Kishmidesar in Bikaner, Rajasthan. He holds a Master of Arts in Political Science, an LLB, and an MBA from Dungar College in Bikaner and the University of the Philippines. After earning his law degree in 1977, he pursued and completed a post-graduate degree in Arts in 1979 as a regular student.
In 2009, he was elected as a Member of Parliament representing the Bharatiya Janata Party from the Bikaner constituency.
