17 Year Old Murder Case Could Haunt MoS Ajay Mishra

If the burning tension surrounding the Lakhimpur Kheri violence was not enough, troubles could multiply for Minister of State for home affairs Ajay Mishra. The politician who has been under the line of fire after his son was named in the FIR for mowing down 4 people in the horrific incident, faces the shadow of another murder case.

The past can haunt the minister for the next few days.

Ajay Mishra was allegedly involved in a murder case. The minister was named in the FIR as a co-accused for gunning down a 24 year old man named Prabhat Gupta in Lakhimpur area in 2003.

Although, a lower court had acquitted the minister for lack of evidence, the case is pending in the High Court. The Allahabad High Court had reserved its judgement on the revision petition in 2018.

More than 3 years have passed, yet the verdict has not seen the light of the day.

At a time when political voices are growing with demands for Ajay Mishra's resignation from all corners, the 17 year old murder case could derail Mishra's political career further.

Tough times ahead for the father and son duo.
