The Ministry of Home Affairs finalised draft rules for the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“the Act”) on December 31, 2024, following inter-ministerial consultations. Subsequently, on January 3, 2025, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (“MeitY”) released the DPDP Rules for public consultations, inviting stakeholders to submit feedback by February 18, 2025.
