Nischal Hindia Appointed As General Counsel and Company Secretary At Camellia PLC

Nischal Hindia has been appointed as General Counsel and Company Secretary at Camellia PLC. A dual qualified lawyer, Hindia has over 20 years of international experience and his career spans time at Freshfields and A&O, London and UBS, Diageo and GSK in Asia and the UK. 

He has extensive experience of operating at a senior level and leading teams in different jurisdictions in regulated industries such as banking, beverage alcohol and pharmaceuticals and of managing issues, including dynamics of an independent board of directors, in a listed company environment.

At GSK London, as Chief Counsel and Chief of Staff to the SVP and Head of Global Audit & Assurance (A&A), in addition to advising GSK’s global internal audit function on all legal issues, he was a member of the global audit leadership team and had varied responsibilities including strategic planning for and administration of the global A&A team, overseeing preparation and planning for interactions between A&A and GSK plc’s board of directors and acting as a key thought and strategic partner to the SVP.

As Executive Vice President & General Counsel of GSK Pharmaceuticals Limited, GSK’s Indian subsidiary, he was a member of the Indian Corporate Executive Team and responsible for leading a team of 5 lawyers, managing external counsel budgets and managing end-to-end legal partnering at an enterprise level for GSK India.

Before joining GSK,  Hindia was Vice President, Legal at Diageo India. He led Diageo India’s legal team as Legal Director and subsequently transitioned to United Spirits Limited, leading a team of ten lawyers and legal staff after Diageo’s c.$3 billion acquisition of a majority stake in the listed Indian beverage alcohol company. He was also Executive Director and Head of Legal for UBS in India and have worked at law firms in the City of London (Freshfields & A&O) in their corporate M&A practice areas.
