Indian Entity Of Bank of America Names Sonali Sharma As Its General Counsel

Sharma replaces Abhimanyu Singh Poonia who has moved on to Citibank as its General Counsel Of India Subcontinent business.

Bank of America has named Sonali Sharma as its General Counsel in India.

“After an amazing fulfilling stint at Cuddles Foundation I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Head of Legal India (General Counsel) Bank of America, Sharma posted on LinkedIn”. 

A seasoned lawyer in the banking and finance industry, Sonali will be based out of Mumbai and will look after the Indian unit's legal operations and regulatory compliance.

Sharma worked with Juris Corp in different roles culminating into partnership, for more than a decade, before transitioning to an in-house career. As an in-house lawyer, Sharma enjoyed successful stints at the Indian arm of Standard Chartered Bank and Avendus group. In her previous role, she was working as a volunteer at Cuddles Foundation. 

As a Banking and Finance Lawyer, her forte lies in structured finance advisory, financial services litigation, capital markets and SEBI regulations. Sharma replaces Abhimanyu Singh Poonia who has moved on to Citibank as its General Counsel Of India Subcontinent business.
