[Breaking] Punjab & Haryana High Court Directs Police to Not Take Any Coercive Steps Against Yuvraj Singh in the Dalit Issue
The Punjab & Haryana High Court on 25.02.2021 has inter alia provided interim relief to Former Indian Cricketer, Mr. Yuvraj Singh, against the FIR lodged against him on 14.02.2021.
The said FIR under section 3(1)(u) of the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, had culminated from a criminal complaint filed by a social activist alleging Yuvraj Singh to have allegedly caused disrepute to the Dalit community and allegedly causing enmity amongst various castes.
Yuvraj Singh was represented by Senior Advocate Puneet Bali as instructed by Trust Legal, Advocates & Consultants led by a team of Mr. Sudhir Mishra, Managing Partner & Ms. Petal Chandhok, Partner.
The State has been directed to file its response within 4 weeks, while interim relief as granted by the High Court to Yuvraj shall remain in force till the next date of hearing.
