Akasa Air Promotes Priya Mehra, Bharat Vansh Bahadur

Akasa Air expanded Priya Mehra's role and responsibilities encompassing three verticals: Legal & Compliance, Fleet Acquisition & Management, and Regulatory Affairs. Furthermore, Akasa elevated Bharat Vansh Bahadur from Deputy General Counsel to Senior Vice-President & General Counsel. In his new role, Bahadur will manage Akasa's legal and compliance division, reporting directly to Mehra.

Priya Mehra, initially joined Akasa Air to oversee the legal and compliance sector, now assumes a broader responsibility. Mehra's career trajectory includes joining Akasa in November 2021 as the Chief Legal Officer, following her tenure at Indigo since December 2016. Prior to that, she served at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher in Singapore under Jai Pathak's leadership within the firm's India team. Her professional journey also includes roles at Jones Day in Singapore and AZB & Partners. Having graduated from Delhi University, Mehra is qualified to practice law in India and England & Wales, possessing extensive experience in Indian markets.

Bharat Vansh Bahadur has over 18 years of experience. He has worked across various law firms and in-house positions. He has a longstanding connection with the aviation sector, commencing in 2017 with IndiGo and later transitioning to Akasa Air in 2022.
