TRP Scam: Hansa Group's Request for a CBI Investigation Laced With Ulterior Motive Says Mumbai Police

The Mumbai Police alleged that Hansa Research Group had approached Bombay HC to seek a CBI investigation only when the nexus between these channels and the Hansa Research Group was revealed. An affidavit was filed by the Mumbai police in this regard. The affidavit points out that 5 out of 15 employees arrested in connection to the TRP scam are from Hansa Research Group. Therefore the police alleged that the doors of the court are knocked to impede the cause of justice.

The affidavit further pointed out that the complainant or the accused don't have the right to choose the investigating agency.  

On the question of causing harassment to the Hansa employees, the police have assured the court that the investigation is going on in a non-coercive and judicious manner. The entire allegation of harassment has been made only for creating a smokescreen”, the affidavit said.
