Supreme Court Designates Five Advocates As Senior Advocates

The Supreme Court of India, on March 6, designated five advocates as senior advocates.

As per the notification issued by the Apex Court, the Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud and the judges of the Supreme Court convened a meeting on March 6 and decided to designate the following advocates as senior advocates:

1. Rajesh Mahale, Advocate on Record

2. PV Dinesh, Advocate on Record

3. Harinder Mohan Singh, Advocate on Record

4. Kaveeta Wadia, Advocate on Record

5. S. Nandakumar, Advocate

The Advocates Act 1961 states that an advocate may, with his consent, be designated as senior advocate if the Supreme Court or a High Court is of opinion that by virtue of his ability, standing at the Bar or special knowledge or experience in law, he is deserving of such distinction.
