Seven HCs Get New Chief Justices

The Collegium at the Supreme Court has recommended the appointment of seven Chief Justices for High Courts. These are High Courts in Kerala, Orissa, Manipur, Andhra Pradesh, Bombay, Telangana and Gujarat.

The Collegium headed by the CJI Dr. Chandrachud and comprised Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Sanjeev Khanna. Among them, Justice Sunita Agarwal has been appointed as the Chief Justice of the Gujarat High Court, Justice Ashish J Desai has been appointed as the Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court.

Other recommendations:

 Justice Subhasis Talapatra- recommended  for appointment as Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court.

Justice Siddharth Mridul- recommended for appointment as the Chief Justice of the Manipur High Court.

Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur- recommended for appointment as the Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh High Court

Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya- recommended for appointment as the Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court.

Justice Alok Aradhe- recommended for appointmentas the Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court.
