Senior Advocate Mahalakshmi Pavani Appointed As Honorary Professor

The Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud presented appointment letter as Honorary Professor to Senior Advocate Mahalakshmi Pavani. The letter was presented during the BA., LLB integrated course's tenth-anniversary celebrations at Sri Venkateswara University.

Ms. Pavani has distinction of being the first woman from Karnataka and the sixth woman overall to attain the designation of "Senior Advocate" by the Supreme Court of India. This recognition took place when the Full Court granted her the esteemed 'Senior's Gown' on April 23, 2015.

Throughout her career, Ms. Pavani has provided legal representation for various entities, including the Union of India, the State of Punjab, and notable political figures such as Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, H.D.Devegowda, H.D. Kumaraswamy, Late Dorjee Kandu, Late J. Jayalalitha, along with ministers from different states, handling numerous cases in areas like Service Law and Criminal Law. Additionally, she serves on the Legal Aid panel of the Supreme Court.
