Recently, a Vacation Bench of Justices Aniruddha Bose and Indira Banerjee asked the Andhra Pradesh government to respond in a plea challenging the eligibility criteria to write the Civil Judge exam in the State.
The bench denied to stay Rule 5(2)(a)(i) of the Andhra Pradesh State Judicial Service Rules of 2007
The bench issued the notice to the Andhra Pradesh government but denied to stay Rule 5(2)(a)(i) of the Andhra Pradesh State Judicial Service Rules of 2007, which provides for the necessary requirement of three years of experience as a lawyer for state Civil Judge exam.
The bench questioned Regalagadda Venkatesh (petitioner) on his urgency to move the Vacation Bench of Supreme Court. In response to that, the petitioner's counsel said
"Where should I go? The last date in January 2nd, I may be permitted to submit the online application"

"The petitioner has challenged a notification of 2020 inviting application for appointment of civil judge junior division in AP State Judicial Services. Question is on eligibility requirement of 3 years as a practising advocate. 2007 Rules are under challenge in this plea.
There can be no kind of urgency to entertain this petition in vacations. Let the plea be listed for hearing on the date of reopening. Notice be issued in the meanwhile."
