New Appointments To HCs

The Department of Justice, Ministry of Law and Justice issued notifications on 4th March 2020 for appointment of one judge of the High Court of Tripura, four additional judges of the High Court of Kerala and six judges of the High Court of Rajasthan. 

Satya Gopal Chattopadhyay, earlier acting as the Registrar of the Tripura High Court, has been appointed as the Judge. His elevation had been approved by the Supreme Court Collegium in its meeting held on 19th February 2020. The appointment will take effect from the date of his assumption of the office.

Pursuant to the approval granted by the Supreme Court Collegium in its meeting held on 29th January 2020, TR Ravi, Bechu Kurian Thomas and Gopinath P (all advocates) and MR Anitha (Judicial Officer) have been appointed as Additional Judges of the Kerala High Court for a period of two years. Their appointment is subject to the aforesaid order of seniority and the tenure will run from the respective dates they assume the charge.

Lastly, Devendra Kachhawaha, Satish Kumar Sharma, Kumari Prabha Sharma, Manoj Kumar Vyas, Rameshwar Vyas and Chandra Kumar Songara (all Judicial Officers) have been elevated to Judges of the Rajasthan High Court. Their appointments are subject to the aforesaid order of seniority and will take effect from the respective dates of their assumption of charge. Their elevation had been approved by the Supreme Court Collegium on 22nd January 2020.
