NEET PG 2021: Supreme Court Dismisses Plea Seeking Centre Relocation

On Thursday, a writ petition was dismissed by the Supreme Court seeking direction to the Central Government to provide an option for Centre change for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2021 and also to postpone the Test till the National Board of Examination allows this option.

Given the declining number of COVID-19 cases and no travel restrictions, a bench of Justices UU Lalit, S. Ravindra Bhat and Bela M Trivedi dismissed the plea.

During the hearing, appearing for the petitioners, Senior Advocate Meenakshi Arora highlighted the increasing rate of COVID-19 cases in Kerala.

In response to this, Justice UU Lalit said, “There are no restrictions in travelling”. Further pointed out the increased vaccination for COVID-19 and less severity of cases.

Through this petition, the petitioners prayed for the change in the Centre for NEET PG 2021 so that the candidates can be in the same state and are not be compelled to travel.

This petition was filed by doctors through Advocate on record Charu Mathur.
