GoodWorker is an aggregator platform that transforms the lifestyle of unskilled and semi-skilled manpower by finding them jobs with top-notch organizations. Affinidi is into building technology solutions to promote the growth of a Self-Sovereign Identity-enabled ecosystem. Both these entities are part of LemmaTree, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Temasek.
On being asked about her new role as the Director Legal, Meenal Maheshwari said, "I have to set up and lead the legal teams for GoodWorker and Affinidi, India. I am responsible for the legal affairs of GoodWorker, which includes setting up legal processes and policies. This role includes providing legal counsel to the Board of Directors, Chairman of the board, Chief Executive Officer, and other senior management. I am working to minimise legal risks and to ensure compliances are in order as GoodWorker and Affinidi, India tread along their inspiring journey."
On her vision for the company law department, she adds, “The idea is to collaborate with the whole team at GoodWorker, Affinidi, LemmaTree and Temasek and to engage with them in such a manner that eventually every member is increasingly self-aware of the macro level risk mitigants in the processes they are involved in.”
Maheshwari has previously started her career with the corporate team of the law firm Khaitan & Co, Mumbai where she worked on M&As, business transfers, joint ventures, and other corporate transactions. She then moved to active practice at the Chambers of the senior counsel Snehal Shah at the Bombay High Court and argued several high stake matters before the Mumbai and Nagpur bench. She finally switched gears and moved in-house to work with companies like the Times of India and Essar Group. As part of her in-house roles, Maheshwari has led equity and debt deals, commercial contracts, restructurings, privacy and technology compliances.
