During the inauguration of the 20th KK Luthra memorial lecture at Delhi University's Campus Law Centre, Supreme Court Justice Hima Kohli emphasised the importance for lawyers to be attentive listeners and empathetic towards people's issues.
She advised law students from various universities to hone their communication skills and maintain a level of detachment while handling individual cases. "A lawyer must be a patient listener," Justice Kohli said.
Justice Kohli also stressed that while financial success is crucial, following one's instincts, no matter how subtle, is equally important for making sound judgments in legal practice.
The KK Luthra moot court competition, held in memory of the esteemed lawyer KK Luthra, features a theme this year that delves into the intersection of international diplomatic laws and criminal investigation procedures. The competition pays tribute to KK Luthra, a distinguished senior advocate, and is organised with the participation of teams from different universities.
At the event, Additional Solicitor General SV Raju, serving as the guest of honor, emphasised the significance of thorough knowledge of facts, laws, and understanding judges for legal success. He also highlighted the sense of accomplishment in challenging witnesses during legal proceedings.
