Karnataka High Court CJ Abhay Oka Appeals to Advocates to Call Clients to Court Only if Mandatary

The Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court has  written a letter to the members of the Karnataka Bar Association requesting the lawyer fraternity in the state to avoid calling clients to Courts unless their presence is mandotorily required. Justice Abhay Shreeniwas Oka has made the appeal in response to the alarming increase in the number of COVID cases in the city of Bangalore alone. He has issued the following directions to the members to tackle the present situation.

  • Make maximum use of video conferencing facility.even in case of mentioning adjournments.
  • Avoid coming to courts unless cases are due for hearing or fresh cases need to be filed.

in his letter, Justice Oka also reminded the eligible members that they can take the benefit of the arrangements made for vaccination.
