Kangana Ranaut Gets Interim Relief From Bombay HC Sedition Case Filed Against Her and Sister Rangoli Chandel

The Bombay HC on Monday granted interim relief to Bollywood Actress Kangana Ranaut. Ms Ranaut has been embroiled in multiple controversies for the last 6 months. Her candid views on the nepotism debate, her legal battle with BMC over the demolition of her property and her twitter showdown with Diljit Donsanjh has kept her trending on Twitter.

In November last year, there was a sedition case registered in Bandra Police station against her and her sister Rangoli Chandel for their alleged objectionable comments on the microblogging website. 

In response to the same, the Queen fame actress moved Bombay HC seeking to quash the said FIR

Expressing its reservation on invoking sedition charges, Bombay HC granted protection to the sister duo against any potential coercive action against them by the Police. The court has asked the complainant to file a reply in the matter on the date of next hearing i.e. 25th January.
