Justice RS Chauhan Takes Oath as the New Chief Justice of Uttarakhand High Court

Justice RS Chauhan was sworn in as Chief Justice of Uttarakhand High Court in the presence of Uttarakhand Governor Baby Rani Maurya on Thursday.

The oath ceremony took place at Raj Bhavan Dehradun. The other dignitaries to have graced the occasion were Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat,  Legislative Assembly Speaker Premchand Aggarwal chief secretary Om Prakash and DGP Ashok Kumar. Justice Chauhan takes over from  Justice Ramesh Ranganathan who retired from his post in July last year.

Justice Chauhan began his career at Rajasthan High Court as an Advocate back in 1983. He used to take up criminal and service matters.

His career as a judge began in 2005 when he was appointed as Additional Judge of the Rajasthan High Court in 2005.

He has previously served in the capacity of a Judge at Karnataka High Court and Telangana High Court during the course of his illustrious career.
