Former Odhisa Governor Murlidhar C Bhandare passed away on June 15. The veteran congress politician was 95 years of age.
Humanitarian at heart, Bhandare advocated for equal rights for the marginalised strata of society. The three time Rajya Sabha member had an illustrious journey as a lawyer. Designated as Senior Advocate Bhandare served as President of Supreme Court Bar Association twice.
“I am saddened to learn of the demise of Muralidhar Chandrakant Bhandare, the former Governor of Odisha and veteran politician. His humble and innocent nature along with his dedication to the progress of the state and the welfare of the people will always be a source of inspiration. May his soul rest in peace and my condolences to the bereaved family,” said Naveen Patnaik, Former Chief Minister, Odhisa.
Bhandare was a revered leader and a senior lawyer par excellence. But beyond a life of law and politics, his love for art, literature and golf added grandeur to his multifaceted personality making him a shining example on living a wholesome and inspired life.
