The Delhi High Court today refused to allow Bharat Pe Co-founder Shashwat Nakrani's plea against Single Judge order refusing to restrain former Managing Director Ashneer Grover from selling or transferring his "unpaid shares."
The bench comprising Justice Rajiv Shakdher and Justice Amit Bansal directed that the trial in the main matter filed by Nakrani be expedited. The Court also appointed a Local Commissioner to record evidence within eight weeks. The Court disposed of the matter with these directions.
The Division Bench ordered the Single Judge to hear and decide the matter expeditiously.
The main suit filed by Shashwat Nakrani against Ashneer Grover pertains to purportedly unpaid shares bought by Grover from Nakrani. Grover had given an assurance before the Court that he will not create third party interest in respect of the shares.
Ashneer Grover shared the news of today's Court order on his LinkedIn and said that he had "won in Court again."
Senior Advocate Mukul Rohatgi appeared on behalf of Shashwat Nakrani. Advocate Giriraj Subramanium appeared on behalf of Ashneer Grover.
