Court Sends Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal To Judicial Custody Till April 15

Rouse Avenue Court today remanded Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to judicial custody till April 15.

The ED custody of the Aam Aadmi Party convenor ended today and he was produced before the Court. Senior Advocate Ramesh Gupta and Senior Advocate Vikram Chaudhari appeared on behalf of Arvind Kejriwal through video conferencing. Additional Solicitor General SV Raju appeared on behalf of the Enforcement Directorate through video conferencing.

The counsel for ED submitted that Arvind Kejriwal be sent to judicial custody as he gave evasive replied to questions asked by ED and he might be required to be taken into custody again.

The Court sent the Delhi Chief Minister to judicial custody till April 15. 

While being produced in Court, the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said, "Modi ji jo kar rahe hain, woh desh ke liye acha nahi hai." He also filed an application before the Court for special diet, medicines and permission for three books inside prison - Bhagwad Gita, Ramayan and How Prime Ministers Decide. His wife Sunita Kejriwal was also present in the courtroom.

Arvind Kejriwal was arrested on March 21 2024 in the excise policy scam case. Earlier, Satyendra Jain, Manish Sisodia and Sanjay Singh have been arrested in the same case and are facing judicial custody.
