Chhattisgarh High Court's Justice Sharad Kumar Gupta Tenders Resignation After Giving his Nod to an Undisclosed Offer by Chhattisgarh Government

Justice Sharad Kumar Gupta who was slated to retire on April 14, 2021, has relinquished his office. This major development from the Chhatisgarh High Court comes in after Mr Gupta gave his consent to a confidential assignment offered to hi, by the Congress Government.

Justice Sharad Kumar Gupta began his career as a Civil Judge in 1985. He was appointed as Additional Judge of the Chhattisgarh High Court back in 2017.

"I am inclined to relinquish my office from 31st of March, 2021 afternoon since I have already given my consent to the State Government of Chhattisgarh for a new assignment. Therefore, I respectfully pray that my resignation may kindly be accepted from 31st of March, 2021 afternoon", Justice Sharad Kumar Gupta’s resignation letter to the President of India, Ramnath Kovind stated.
