Arvind Kejriwal Appears Before Court Through Video Conferencing

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today appeared before Rouse Avenue Court through video conferencing (VC) in a complaint filed by Enforcement Directorate (ED) for non appearance in excise policy scam case.

Senior Advocate Ramesh Gupta appeared on behalf of Kejriwal and he informed the Court that his client is a chief minister and he could not appear today as there is a vote of confidence in the Legislative Assembly. An exemption application was moved on behalf of Kejriwal. Counsel for Kejriwal further said that his client would appear on the next date of hearing.

Kejriwal himself addressed the Court through VC and said that the Delhi budget session is scheduled to be held in March and he will certainly appear before the Court after that. The Court posted the case for March 16, 2024.

The case for which ED has summoned Arvind Kejriwal is the excise policy scam case. Kejriwal has been summoned six times by ED. The Delhi Chief Minister has termed the summons as illegal and he has not appeared before the investigating agency.
