Advocate Shashank Dixit Appointed As Central Government Standing Counsel

In a recent development, the President of India has engaged Shashank Dixit among others as Central Government Standing Counsels (CGSC) to represent before the Delhi High Court and as an Additional Central Government Standing Counsel to represent before the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT).

The engagements, effective immediately, have been made for a tenure of three years, commencing from the date of the Order F. No. J-11017/26/2023-Judicial (13.03.2024), issued by the Department of Legal Affairs, Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India.

Shashank is a first generation lawyer. He practices before the Supreme Court of India, High Court of Delhi and other Courts/Tribunals in Delhi for nearly a decade. He is also regularly engaged as an arguing Counsel before the High Court of Madhya Pradesh, Gwalior & Indore Bench, Allahabad High Court and other High Courts of the Country.

His core areas of practice include Commercial Litigation & Arbitration and Criminal Litigation. He represents various clients in high stake commercial arbitrations, challenge to the award(s), writ petitions, first appeals, injunction suits, money laundering matters & other appellate matters on the civil side. He had also represented various clients charged under PMLA, PoCA, POCSO, COFEPOSA & other penal statutes on the criminal side.
