In a recent development, the President of India has engaged Rupali Bandhopadhya among others as Central Government Standing Counsels (CGSC) to represent before the Delhi High Court.
The engagements, effective immediately, have been made for a tenure of three years, commencing from the date of the Order F. No. J-11017/26/2023-Judicial (13.03.2024), issued by the Department of Legal Affairs, Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India.
Rupali is an Advocate in India and Attorney at Law licensed to practice in New York. She has done her Masters from Cornell Law School. She has over ten years of experience in consulting and litigating in India and United States.
Rupali Bandhopadhya is currently also the Additional Standing Counsel (Criminal) in Delhi High Court and is a New York Attorney licensed to practise.
She has previously been the Head Legal, South Asia at British Airways. She has also worked at the United Nations office of Legal Affairs and High Commission for Refugees, New York.
She was on the Senior Panel of the Central Government and has now been upgraded to Central Government Standing Counsel.
