Advocate Prem Shankar Singh Appointed As Central Government Standing Counsel

In a recent development, the President of India has engaged Prem Shankar Singh among others as Central Government Standing Counsels (CGSC) to represent before the Delhi High Court and as an Additional Central Government Standing Counsel to represent before the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT).

The engagements, effective immediately, have been made for a tenure of three years, commencing from the date of the Order F. No. J-11017/26/2023-Judicial (13.03.2024), issued by the Department of Legal Affairs, Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India.

Singh is enrolled with the Bar Council of Delhi and in continuous practice appearing before the Supreme Court and Delhi High Court for the last 23 years. He has appeared in various cases before the Supreme Court of India including Public Interest Litigation, civil appeals, Special Leave Petition- Civil and Criminal, transfer petitions, and various other petitions. He has also been empaneled as Central Govt. Senior Panel Counsel until February 21, 2022 at Delhi High Court.

Singh is experienced in handling all kinds of litigations and specialises in handling Arbitration & commercial matters amongst other types of litigation, including but not limited to civil, criminal, commercial, labor, consumer, real estate, matrimonial, drafting and vetting of Contracts, POAs, Deeds, etc., and  provides legal consultancy and opinions in diverse areas.
