In a recent development, the President of India has engaged Nishant Gautam among others as Central Government Standing Counsels (CGSC) to represent before the Delhi High Court.
The engagements, effective immediately, have been made for a tenure of three years, commencing from the date of the Order F. No. J-11017/26/2023-Judicial (13.03.2024), issued by the Department of Legal Affairs, Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India.
Nishant Gautam is the managing partner at Triumph Legal.
Speaking on his appointment, Gautam said, "I am grateful to the government of India for entrusting me with a great opportunity such as this. It is but natural that the new role as a CGSC will come with its dynamic challenges and require commitment and focus and as such my role at the firm will change now. Luckily we have a very good leadership structure and able counsels at Triumph who will take care of the firm and its practice. I will focus on my role as the CGSC, and will only have a limited involvement in the assignments of the firm that too if there is no conflict with my duties as a CGSC."
Gautam regularly appears before the High Court of Delhi, High Court of Bombay, NCLT and other tribunals. Additionally, he also conducts Arbitration and has varied exposure and experience to different kinds of disputes ranging from commercial, civil, company, service, insolvency, banking and various other laws across different fora.
