Dr A. Velumani, Founder, Chairman, & MD, Thyrocare Shares Valuable Lessons on Success for India’s Youth

Dr Velumani shares glimpses from his inspiring journey

In his words, Dr  A. Velumani came a long way - from his humble background to working as a BARC scientist to finally achieving phenomenal success at present as an entrepreneur. He shared: “I am basically from Coimbatore. I had mathematics as my subject. I was a government officer for 15 long years. I was getting into my comfort zone but I decided to give up my cosy government job.”

Today Thyrocare Technologies is an International brand

Founded in 1996, Thyrocare Technologies is a chain of diagnostic and preventive care laboratories headquartered in Navi Mumbai. Reportedly, it is India’s first and most advanced totally automated laboratory having a presence in more than 2000 cities/towns in India and internationally.

Sustaining Success is a challenge, says Dr Velumani

Dr Velumani’s view on success is that getting success is not so much a challenge as sustaining it. “Very often after success, people go into their comfort zone,” he said. Consequently, the question of motivation becomes very important in one’s journey. To which, Dr Velumani stated, “If you want someone else for motivation, you will never feel motivated for long. I did not get motivated by anyone else but by myself.” His advice is to always have something to look forward to – ‘what’s next?’

Dr Velumani believes that youth can make a massive impact in today's changing world

Undeniably, the world is changing very fast. Given the pandemic and the rapid adoption of technologies, the structure and style of involvement have changed. Dr Velumani reiterates the same: “Today is a very different world. Youth can truly make an impact”  He emphasized the importance of taking risks. Velumani said, “Take risks. It is necessary for life to take risks. What is easy to do is not (always) right to do. I want youth to take that what is difficult to take.” Dr Velumani strongly believes in the aphorism: “Nikal pado, rasta apne aap banta hai.”
