[Day 1] S.K. Misra Memorial International Mediation and Negotiation Competition 2.0

“Effective commitment, endeavour and composition”, as the ink precedes itself in the honour of this prestigious event, what we witnessed on Friday was a mega-mind of 100 brain wavelengths and 1000 drafts.

With an overwhelming response and healthy competition, S.K.M.M.I.M.N.C version 2.0. played its first-day preliminary rounds with arduous knowledge heads of 96 universities showcasing exemplary performance during the prelims.

With the insights and snaps of the organising committees, the audience got to know the success facilitation and evaluation of laymen negotiations.

The participatory teams were sub-divided according to the slot-time schedule, providing thorough distinction of the smooth functioning of the first mediation competition being hosted by Lloyd Law College within unprecedented boundaries of fibres i.e. Virtual mode/ Online mode.

Committees with specifics and clear coms of information interject even the physical format glitches to produce a flawless courtroom setup worthy of attention.

The 24 slot machines for courtrooms in the ‘ ZOOM’ Social media platform laid out the map of future prospects of timeshare and tech guru gadgets inbuilt like ‘ Break out rooms’ ( different time, region zones binding at the same time).

All the teams were presided over by a well-respected judge of the very profession in Law and every courtroom had a court master to brighten up the paper with ink linking and typing the crux of words and analogies being spoken. We also had a courtroom in-charge responsible for all the members in the meeting (mediators, clients, Counsel and judges all together).

Elusive Agendas, Problems and the solutions were the main aspect of the mediation process within the virtual courts and how to mould a Negotiator, Counsel and a Mediator out of a spitfire image of a typical law student were the moralistic viewpoint of the competition. Voices were being listened to, the grace of the Judges was being absorbed like nature giving their plants chemistry to photosynthesis their life.

The holistic view could be seen as a major outcome of this post-pandemic era and education getting new heights. Feedbacks and drawing of the conclusions made the months of hard-work profitable even in losses.

Inspired by virtual courts we could see the new souls of litigation and Mediation emerging and changing the flow of the Law of our land as it should be passed on to the new generation.
