BREAKING: SC Holds Certain Provisions Of PMLA Constitutionally Valid
The Apex Court held that the registration of Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR) is not mandatory in every case.
The Supreme Court further stated that ECIR cannot be equated with an FIR as an ECIR is an internal document of the Enforcement Directorate.
The judgment is slated to impact numerous politicians who have been booked under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 (PMLA).
