Uttar Pradesh Budget 2021: State Government to Establish a National Law University at Prayagraj

The state finance minister recently announced during the ongoing budget session of the Uttar Pradesh State Assembly that the government had decided to create a National Law University in the district of Prayagraj. It has been also agreed that nearly 25 acres of land will be set aside for the project.   

The other significant budget highlights concerning the judicial system in Uttar Pradesh were focused on improving the infrastructure of courts and building residential accommodation for judges.

  • ₹450 crores proposed for buildings of courts in districts.
  • ₹100 crores proposed for the construction of houses for judges of the High Court
  • ₹150 crores proposed for building construction of Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court 
  • ₹ 75 crores marked for setting up CCTV cameras in the premises of lower courts.
