Amended petition seeks Rs. 2 crore as damages
Recently, Kangana's Counsel Rizwan Siddique had asked the High Court's leave to amend the plea for incorporating new facts. The amended petition seeks Rs. 2 Crores as compensation for the demolition that BMC has already carried out.
All the necessary permissions from BMC were taken, claims Kangana
In her petition, Ranaut informs that she had purchased the bungalow in 2017 after which she carried out repairs on the 40 year old building.
Kangana has claimed that she had duly complied with applicable norms while renovating her bungalow and accordingly challenged the demolition order of BMC. The petition also stated that Kangana got permission from the Corporation before she undertook structural repairs of the property. The amended petition further mentioned about her feud with the Maharashtra Government over her comments on the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
"The Petitioner states and firmly believes that the entire action initiated by the BMC officials was a counterblast and a consequence of the displeasure of influential persons in power and are displeased by certain causes being taken up by Petitioner."
BMC demolished 40% of the property
The petition further states that the Corporation demolished 40% of the property and also lists the valuable movable property of the Bungalow, like chandeliers, sofa and rare arts-works.
Ranaut prayed for an order restraining BMC from conducting further demolitions on the property in the interim and also sought damages amounting to Rs. 2 Crores for the demolition of the structures of the Bungalow.
