Justice A.K. Mishra Likely to Head NHRC, Rajiv Jain & Mahesh Mittal Kumar Recommended as Members

Justice Arun Mishra is likely to be the next chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) as per a report published in Hindu.  A high-powered committee consisting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, Harivansh, Lok Sabha Speaker, Om Birla and Leader of Opposition, Mallikarjun Kharge has proposed the name of the former Supreme Court Judge.

Former IB Director, Mr Rajiv Jain and ex-Chief Justice of J&K High Court Mahesh Mittal Kumar have been recommended as members of NHRC.
