Bail Granted To Lalu Prasad Yadav And Other In IRCTC Scam:

Rouse Avenue District Court bench comprising Special Judge Geetanjali Goel on Wednesday granted bail to former Rashtriya Janta Dal Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, his wife Rabri Devi and Daughter Misa Bharti along with others in land for job scam. The court observed that the CBI had filed the chargesheet without the arrest in the case registered by them.

The bail was granted by the court on furnishing a personal bond of Rs.50,000 in the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) scam case. The court observed that as per the investigation the candidates were considered for their engagement without any need for substitutes and there was no urgency on their appointment which was one of the major criteria for the engagement of substitutes. The court observed that they joined their duties much later from the approval of their appointment and they were subsequently regularized.

Allegation By CBI:

The CBI filed its chargesheet against 16 persons in October and thereafter sanctions were obtained to proceed against Lalu yadav and others. The allegations made by CBI are:

The CBI has alleged that advertisements for the appointment of substitutes in zonal railways were not published and hence undue haste could be seen in the processing of the applications. It has also been alleged that the correct prescribed procedure for the appointment was not followed and thereafter their services were regularized.

The major allegation put forth by the CBI is that for the appointment of substitutes in group- D posts in several railway zones, Lalu prasad and his family members received benefits in terms of land.
