BJP MLA Barred From Delhi Assembly Approaches Delhi HC Against Suspension

The BJP MLA Vijender Gupta has approached the Delhi High Court against his suspension from the Delhi Assembly till the next Budget session as it has been alleged against him that he repeatedly interrupts the proceedings of the house. The matter has been listed for tomorrow after urgent mentioning before the high court bench comprising Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice Sachin Datta. 

Background:

In the matter at hand BJP MLA Vijender Gupta issued a notice mentioning the leaking of “Outcome Budget” details which was tabled in assembly earlier on Monday. Following this, the Delhi Assembly speaker Ram Nivas Goel mentioned that such a notice needs to be given three hours before and remarked that Gupta wanted it to be taken up for a discussion which seems like his sim is to create ruckus and waste the time of the house. But Gupta mentioned the issue again after the house gathered against post 2 P.M. At this Goel demanded Gupta to be expelled for a year.

Mentioning Before the High Court:

Gupta has put forth that the order given by the Delhi Assembly speaker Ram Nivas Goel is unfair and violates the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business, Legislative Assembly of National Capital Territory of Delhi. He further submitted that the AAP members also behaved in unruly manner. the matter was mentioned for urgent listing by Senior Advocate Satish Chandra Sharma.
