Senior Advocate Manan Kumar Mishra, the Chairman of Bar Council of India, is set to become a Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha.
Mishra was fielded by the National Democratic Alliance to represent the state of Bihar in the Council of States. He is set to be elected unopposed as the opposition has not fielded any candidate against him. Mishra is a BJP leader since last ten years.
The Rajya Sabha Elections were due after two MPs were elected to the Lok Sabha and the seats they occupied fell vacant. The two MPs are Misa Bharti from Rashtriya Janata Dal and Vivek Thakur of Bhartiya Janata Party.
Mishra completed his law from Patna in the year 1980 and started his practice in 1982. As a senior advocate, he has represented clients in many important cases before the Supreme Court of India.
